The Marble Cake Company was born out of my sheer love for baking, designing and seeing other people smile as they tasted my creations. Do you want to know exactly how my at-home hobby turned into an exciting and fulfilling business venture? Here’s the story of how the Marble Cake Company came to be…

THE BEGINNING

As the daughter of a professional baker, you could say that this has always been my destiny, but it took a long time for me to discover that my lifelong career should have always been a cake making business.

After moving from the hustle and bustle of London with my husband into the natural beauty countryside of Malvern, we wanted to start our family. Being surrounded by nature and picturesque views must have sparked something inside me, as I started baking… and baking… and baking!

Watching the smiles on other peoples’ faces as they tasted by unique creations was a feeling I never wanted to let go of. Through every new cheesecake, pie and cake recipe, I discovered that my true passion was right there in the kitchen, but I never imagined it would be my full time career.

WELCOME TO THE WORLD ALEXANDER

The birth of my beautiful little boy Alexander was a true turning point in my life. Motherhood became my primary focus so my baking hat was stashed away and I poured as much love as I could into our new (gorgeous!) family member… that was until his first birthday arrived. 

For AJ’s first birthday (and every birthday since then), I created a unique, double tiered, fully decorated cake. The feedback and encouragement from my husband, friends and family started to turn the cogs inside my brain. Could a cake making business really work for me?

CREATIVE FROM A YOUNG AGE

Since I was a child I have always been involved in creative activities, whether I was knitting, painting or crafting. From the age of twelve I started sewing my own clothes and I was always making presents for my mum. Even now, I construct and create birthday presents for my son, including a huge 2 metre tall rocket, with light up with control buttons and fire-like turbines! It’s safe to say that creativity has never truly stopped flowing through my veins.

COMBINING MY PASSION WITH MY CAREER

Up until now, I believe I was never truly on the right career path, but starting the Marble Cake Company has never felt so natural and organic. After being made redundant from my previous job, it was a clear sign that creating my own business was the only way forward for me. The flexibility to spend time with my family and create a business that I love wholeheartedly felt right from the very start.

As a self-confessed chocoholic my husband even told me that my red velvet cupcakes and brownies are the best things he’s ever eaten - if this wasn’t a clear sign to start my own business, I don’t know what would have been!

MORE THAN THE AVERAGE BAKER

Now that I’m fully committed to creating the best possible service for my clients (and the most delicious cakes!) I realise just how many talented bakers there are in the world. From the start, it’s been very important to me to stand out and stay true to what I believe in for my brand.

Investing in improving my skills, updating my branding and constantly researching trends to stay ahead of the curve is always at the top of my priority list; I always want to be the best possible version of myself and never settle. I’m dedicated to standing out from the crowd with my unique flavours, contemporary designs and seamless creative process. Every single client that comes my way has a piece of my heart, and I truly feel honoured to be a small part of their special day.

I believe there is no better way to tell your love story than through a delicious, mouth-watering, unique and show-stopping wedding cake, and I will always strive to deliver every couples’ vision no matter how big or small. As a self-confessed perfectionist I will always make sure that the finished product is as pristine as it can possibly be!

I believe the future is bright for the Marble Cake Company and we’re truly only just getting started! My plans will continue to expand and I will be adding more and more beautiful creations to my portfolio over the coming months and years.
